What you can make with lip sync

Talking portraits

Turn a still photo and a voice recording into a speaking video for presentations, greetings, or social content.

Dubbing and voice-over

Replace the audio of an existing clip and let the mouth movements follow the new speech.

Avatar and character videos

Pair a character image with generated speech from Medux AI voices to create presenter-style videos.

Need a full digital human from a script? Explore Workshop Avatar. Want to swap the face in a clip? Try Video Face Swap. You can also open this tool in the Playground.

Better source material

Get a more natural lip sync

Use a clear face

Choose a sharp, well-lit, front-facing face. Sunglasses, masks, and hands covering the mouth reduce quality.

Use clean audio

Speech with little background noise or music gives the model clearer timing to follow.

Test a short clip first

Try a short segment before a long video, then review mouth shapes and timing in the result.

Frequently asked questions

AI lip sync FAQ

What do I need to make a lip sync video?

Provide one base video or image containing the face that should speak, and one audio file with the speech. Medux generates a video where the face moves its lips to match the audio.

Can I use an image instead of a video?

Yes. Upload a clear portrait image to create a speaking video from a still photo, or upload a video to re-animate the mouth in an existing clip.

Which file formats are supported?

Video: MP4, MOV, WebM, AVI. Image: JPG, PNG, WebP. Audio: MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, FLAC.

How can I get better lip sync results?

Use a sharp, front-facing face that stays visible and unobstructed, and clean speech audio with little background noise or music. Test a short clip before processing longer media.

How long does it take?

Processing time depends on the media length and current service load. The result panel shows the latest task status, and Account Results lets you follow every submitted task.

Can I keep working while it processes?

Yes. The task runs on the server after submission. Return to this page or open Account Results to see the status and the finished video.

Where can I find my finished video?

When processing succeeds you can preview and download the video on this page. The task is also saved in Account Results.

Can I use lip sync through an API?

Yes. This page uses the same audio-driven lip sync service as the Medux Playground, so you can try it there and integrate it into your own app or agent workflow.

Can I generate the audio first?

Yes. Create speech with the Medux AI voice tools, download the audio, and upload it here as the driving audio.
